California Update – New Regional Closures – Personal Services including massage, hair, esthetics, and nails to close if ICU bed capacity reaches 15% or less
12/15/2020Governor Newsom modified the state’s Stay at Home orders on December 3, dividing the state into five regions. Regions that have 15% or less intensive care unit (ICU) bed capacity will be shut down from all but essential services for three weeks.
New Rule to Account for Delays in License Renewal Processing
12/15/2020The Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation passed an emergency rule to ensure all TDLR licensees with a license that expired between August 1, 2020, and November 30, 2020, now hold an “emergency license” valid for up to 120 days after their license expiration date.
Updated New York COVID-19 Micro-Cluster Focus Zones
12/15/2020Governor Cuomo announced parts of Erie County will enter the Orange Zone November 20, 2020. Nonessential, high-risk businesses in the Orange Zone must close.

12/15/2020Governor Whitmer issued a new Emergency Order that prohibits services requiring the temporary removal of masks, such as facials and beard trims. The order is in effect from November 18 to December 8, 2020.

Colorado COVID-19 Update–Friday, November 20

Georgia COVID-19 Update: Online CE allowed for courses taken after September 24
10/01/2020On August 28, 2020, the Georgia Board of Massage Therapy approved emergency rules that allow online continuing education (CE) to be counted toward licensure requirements during the 2020 renewal period. The governor and attorney general approved these emergency rules effective September 24, 2020, and the Board updated the rules on their website when they learned of the approval and the effective date on September 29, 2020.
