Call for Maryland Board of Massage Therapy Members

The Maryland State Board of Massage Therapy Examiners (https://health.maryland.gov/massage/Pages/home.aspx) (the Board) has requested ABMP to nominate professional members to serve on the Board, and we are now accepting applications from licensed massage therapists. The Board is comprised of seven members, five of which are licensed massage therapists and two of which are consumers. There are currently two vacancies.

If you are interested in being nominated by ABMP to serve on the Board, please email your resume and a brief cover letter no later than Friday, October 23, 2020, to Government Relations Director Laura Embleton at laura@abmp.com

This document addresses the Board’s schedule and responsibilities (PDF) in detail. In brief, the Board meets the fourth Wednesday of every month from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Metro Executive Building located at 4201 Patterson Avenue, Suite 301, in Baltimore, MD, 21215. Board members are expected to review all board materials prior to each meeting, which are generally 6–8 hours long. The Board also has several committees that meet monthly. Currently, all board meetings are done remotely due to COVID-19. If you would like to observe a board meeting, you can attend a meeting remotely by visiting the Board’s website.
