On June 15, 2021, Governor Greg Abbott signed House Bill 1560 (HB 1560) into law, requiring all cosmetology schools and establishments to display a copy of the Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation’s sanitation rules. You can meet this requirement one of two ways:
- Download, print, and display the Barbering and Cosmetology Health and Safety Rules PDF
- Have the law and rules book available on-site
This requirement went into effect January 1, 2023. Violations may be documented after this date.
