Pennsylvania Proposes Increased Cosmetology Fees

On April 30, 2022, the Pennsylvania State Board of Cosmetology (Board) proposed a graduated fee increase that would affect application fees, biennial renewal fees, and other fees applicable to all cosmetologists, nail technicians, estheticians, and natural hair braiders.

An initial increase would be introduced during the February 1, 2023—January 31, 2025, renewal period. Fees would increase again on July 1, 2024, and would affect the February 1, 2025—January 31, 2027, renewal period. ASCP has outlined the graduated fee increases for you below.

If you would like to submit written comments to the Board in support of, or in opposition to, the proposed rule, email RA-STRegulatoryCounsel@pa.gov before May 30, 2022, and reference Regulation No. 16A-4520 (Fee Increase) when submitting comments.
