New Mexico Increases Cosmetology Fees

On April 5, 2022, the New Mexico Register announced an amendment to the New Mexico Administrative Code that addresses final rules affecting cosmetology fees. The new fee schedule is effective April 15, 2022. ASCP, AHP, and ANP have summarized the fee changes for you below.

Fees (16.34.14.8)

  • Barber license (original and renewal)
    • $100 (previously $50)
       
  • Cosmetologist license (original and renewal)
    • $100 (previously $50)
       
  • Manicurist/pedicurist license (original and renewal)
    • $100 (previously $50)
       
  • Manicurist/esthetician license (original and renewal)
    • $100 (previously $50)
       
  • Electrologist license (original and renewal)
    • $100 (previously $50)
       
  • Esthetician license (original and renewal)
    • $100 (previously $50)
       
  • Instructor license (original and renewal)
    • $100 (previously $50)
