Under a new bill, your past may not define your professional career. The Arkansas legislature adopted House Bill 1580, which exempts cosmetologists from licensing restrictions based on criminal records.
If a cosmetologist is guilty of a criminal offense found here, whether the crime was committed in Arkansas or another jurisdiction, they are not automatically prohibited from receiving or renewing a cosmetology license.
