Big news, Wyoming beauty pros! New services could soon be within reach. The Wyoming Board of Cosmetology issued proposed rules (page 20) that would create a lash and brow add-on license. This proposal could expand what licensed hairstylists and nail technicians are allowed to offer and could impact your bottom line. Here’s what the proposal means for you.
Add-on Lash and Brow License
This new license would cover services such as tinting, chemically waving eyelashes and brows, and applying lash extensions. It’s available only to licensed hairstylists and nail techs, with a curriculum requiring 200 hours of theory and practical instruction, including:
- Health, safety, and infection control
- Working safely around the eye area
- Chemical safety
- Lash types, curl, thickness, and length
- Pre-and post-service procedures
- Applying extensions to the eyelashes
- Eyelash lifting
- Eyebrow lamination
- Eyebrow and eyelash tinting
